Faith formation is a lifelong enterprise with contributions from home, pastor, Sunday school, small groups, retreats and more.
From September to June, CLC offers Sunday School for children aged 5 to 14, Sunday Morning Conversations for confirmed high school youth, and an adult Forum, where content may include book discussions, social concerns and reflections on theological questions. No one person is the “expert;” questions are always welcome, and lively exchanges expected.
A week-long vacation Bible School is a summer tradition at Christ Lutheran Church. Children aged 5 through fifth-grade engage in songs and stories, arts and crafts, snacks and recreation around a central biblical theme. Older youth support the adult staff for a fun and faith-filled week.
February vacation brings a special 4-day program for children grades K – 6th, Musical Journey Through Lent. Each day includes music-making, Bible stories, movement, crafts, a nourishing lunch and morning & afternoon snacks.
A highlight of each January is CLC’s mid-winter retreat at Camp Calumet on beautiful Lake Ossipee in Freedom, NH. Newcomers and oldcomers enjoy big-hearted fellowship, spiritual growth, a variety of winter sports or quiet time by the fire, and delicious meals in the conference center. Many of CLC’s children are annual returnees to Calumet’s summer overnight camp program, and grow up to serve a summer or two or ten on the Calumet staff.
